Clear Choice Theraputics

The PREVENT Advantage

  • The PREVENT’s novel design and material allow for more efficient flow characteristics
  • The PREVENT allows for lower negative pressure setting (-50 to -80 mmHg)
  • The PREVENT does not collapse under negative pressure allowing for ease of intermittent/cyclic pressures

Dressing placement

Traditional NPWT Dressings

  • Trial and error in order to cut to wound size and shape takes excessive time
  • The sponge pushes against the drape when trying to seal the wound
  • The sponge retains fluid and makes a seal difficult

The Ease of PREVENT

  • The PREVENT can be cut right over top
  • The wound can be visualize through the PREVENT
  • The PREVENT sits inside the wound with no expansion against the drape or the wound edges
  • There is no fluid retention with the PREVENT

Fluid Retention

Benchtop test showed that PREVENT allowed 45% more exudate to be removed as compared to foam.
  • 3.5 hour test at -125mmHg
  • Instillation was set at 200mL/hr
  • Total of 360mL instilled through both dressings
  • 360mL infused into foam & PREVENT
  • 229mL out foam (131mL retained)
  • 331mL out PREVENT (29mL retained)

Fluid Retention

  • Sponge is perfect medium to hold fluid on the wound
  • Perfect medium for bacterial overgrowth
  • Wound colonization negatively affects healing
  • Staph & Pseudomonas colonization
  • Sponge is poor for fluid transmission/irrigation
  • Instillation through a dirty sponge
  • Sponge is opaque and cannot see the wound through it
  • Sponge compresses & expands to degrade the seal

Unmatched Efficiency

  • PREVENT does not hold fluid
  • Significantly reduced resistance to flow
  • We expect reduced bacterial load
  • We expect improved healing
  • Studies to be done but very intuitive
  • PREVENT is clear so you can see the wound
  • PREVENT is non compressible but also very soft and pliable
  • PREVENT will mold to any contour of the wound.
  • No pressure up against seal

PREVENT allows for easy use of intermittent suction

Intermittent suction allows for tissue re-perfusion and improved blood flow.

0 to -55 mmHg

-55 to -20 mmHg

-20 to -55 mmHg

The sponge collapses on itself pulling against the seal

The sponge pushes against the seal and may pull in-grown tissue causing pain when suction is reduced

Wound Contraction

  • The PREVENT performs similar to the sponge dressing
  • the PREVENT allows for contracture at lower pressures

0 to -125 mmHg (6mm)

0 to -50mmHg (7mm)
