The PREVENT Wound Contact Layer

Designed with a unique honeycomb geometry, this thin, flexible, and non-adherent layer provides visibility to the wound bed, and helps minimize tissue adhesion, improving patient comfort. Available in multiple sizes, the PREVENT Contact Layer can be tailored to fit various wound sizes, providing a compelling alternative to traditional wound contact layers.

Traditional Contact Layer Shortcomings

Placement

  • Hard to cut size
  • Hard to place drape
  • Leaky seal, pushing against the seal (recoil)

On Patient

  • Can’t monitor the wound
  • Retains fluid
  • Skin maceration
  • Bacteria over-growth

Removal

  • Frequent dressing changes
  • Painful / in-growth
  • Leave particles in wound

We’ve got an incredibly difficult one coming… He is a 585 pound gentleman with pseudomonas in extensive Venus leg ulcers. We’re planning to use the your dressings to do bid irrigation with 0.25% acetic acid. It’s working very well so far! … Oooh, look at that tissue quality, the lack of inflammation! And how very, very shallow it is! No odor and not a single area with slough, much less purulence. We only have to spend two hours a week on his dressings, which is a miracle. Esp with these results. What’s lovely as we only have to do the dressing changes every 7 to 10 days! The patient’s pain tolerance is zero and he tolerates this dressing change with oral medication only, which says a lot! — Wound Nurse, Columbia, MO
